Rashid Khan
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Rashid Khan has joined banglalink on July 20, 2006 as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to joining banglalink, he was the Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Mobilink, a subsidiary of Orascom Telecom Holdings (OTH), the global telecom group. He is a senior member of the Group's management team who played a key role in the robust growth of Mobilink's subscriber base from 1 million to 17 million in a short span of 3 years.

Mr. Khan brings vast management experience in telecommunications, IT, and other technologies to this country. For the last 12 years he held several management positions within the cellular business arena in the emerging markets. Earlier to that, for almost 15 years, he worked for various international companies such as Intel's subsidiary, Chips & Technologies, and a number of start ups in Silicon Valley; where he acquired extensive working experience in developed markets, as well.
